CREATOR SILVIO DISALVATORE IS TAKING PLANET
COUGARIZATION TO THE NEXT LEVEL. |

Sometimes a loser
in a TV show competition could end up a big
winner. |

/24-7PressRelease/ - YONKERS, NY, August
09, 2007 - His main objective was to
make a children's superhero movie. What
has happened is a nationwide frenzy. All
I wanted to do was create a superhero
for children; I wasn't trying to cure
cancer. Just wholesome entertainment for
children and that's it says Silvio
Disalvatore creator of "Black Cougar".
What started out as just a dream over
twenty years ago has morphed into
something DiSalvatore couldn't have
dreamed up in a million years.
When DiSalvatore began filming Black
Cougar in 2000, he never envisioned
having to distribute it in theaters
himself let alone a DVD release, making
action figures and other merchandise,
learning marketing, creating a public
access children's TV show only to lead
up on a nationwide network show in front
of millions of viewers with his
creation.
It was an audition for the ABC reality
game show "American Inventor" that took
DiSalvatore and "Black Cougar" to
another level. Silvio pitched it to a
panel of four celebrity judges that
included Pat Croce, Sarah Blakely, Peter
Jones and George Foreman. The votes were
split with Foreman and Blakely voting
yes. Not making it to the finals, he
left the studio optimistic that if he
gained airtime he'd be lucky. Then came
the calls from Inventor producers. They
flew to DiSalvatore's home in Yonkers,
NY. Producers interviewed his wife Amy
and son Blake. When his wife of 18 years
was asked, "Do you think Silvio will be
the next American Inventor winner?" Amy
replied I don't know if he'll be the
Next American Inventor but I know he
will be the next American Something.
When he talks people listen".
When the show aired in June the response
was phenomenal. DiSalvatore received
over 20,000 emails. Sales of Black
Cougar DVD's and dolls hit the roof.
Again, the producers called and wanted
DiSalvatore in Los Angeles to
participate in the shows finale. It was
an Inventors show, says DiSalvatore, "I
pitched them a franchise and they know
it. Cartoons, weekly TV series, movie
sequels, merchandise, toys and video
games. The possibilities are endless.
Those are only few directions the Black
Cougar could go. Bottom line is they see
dollar signs in Black Cougar".
It was DiSalvatore energy, passion and
belief in "Black Cougar" that came
across on screen. His wild appearance
and entertaining delivery on the final
show, executives knew they had something
with him and why not show it to the
world. DiSalvatore goes on to say when I
watched the show and Judge Sara Blakely
mentioned "Black Cougar" in the same
sentence as Spiderman, it blew me away.
I always knew just how big "Black
Cougar" could get, but now it was
recognized by an astute and savvy
business woman on national television
DiSalvatore went out and did his thing
to a live audience, now the flood gates
opened again for "Black Cougar." What
started out as a dream is now a reality.
A reality to millions,
Cougarize the Planet is his goal. Let's
just say Cougarization has begun.
